This year, we\u2019re embracing the theme\u00a0\u201cRise and Shine\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0to guide our activities, assemblies, and weekly affirmations.<\/p>\n

Weekly Affirmation:<\/strong>
\n“Every small effort helps you rise higher and shine brighter.”<\/p>\n

Focus: Effort and Perseverance<\/em><\/strong>
\nWe encourage families to discuss this affirmation at home to spark meaningful conversations.<\/p>\n

Last Week’s Highlights<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Thank you to Ms Holman’s class for organizing Twin\/Triplet day this past Friday.<\/p>\n

We have had Dan Dan Mikolay, from Ridge Meadows Recycling, visit our classes to discuss recycling with our students.\"\"<\/p>\n

Dan is also our community BearAware representative and we were fortunate enough to have him aslo share his Bear Aware presentation with many of our classes.<\/p>\n

Bear Aware Reminders<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Sometimes we do tend to see some bear activity in the community and in our neighbourhood in the fall and spring, Listed below is some bear safety information for families to review with their children.<\/p>\n

https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/environment\/plants-animals-ecosystems\/wildlife\/human-wildlife-conflict\/staying-safe-around-wildlife\/bears<\/a><\/p>\n

Do not feed bears.\u00a0<\/strong>It\u2019s against the law to feed dangerous wildlife.<\/p>\n

Remain calm. Do not run or climb a tree.\u00a0<\/strong>Slowly back away, talking to the bear in a quiet, monotone voice. Do not scream, turn your back on the bear, kneel down or make direct eye contact.<\/p>\n

Keep away from the bear.\u00a0<\/strong>Do not try to get closer to it. If the bear gets too close, use pepper spray (within 7 metres) or something else to threaten or distract it.<\/p>\n

Stay together.\u00a0<\/strong>If you are with others, act as a group. Keep children close \u2013 pick up and carry small children.<\/p>\n

Go indoors.<\/strong>\u00a0Bring pets indoors if possible.<\/p>\n

Watch the bear until it leaves.<\/strong>\u00a0Make sure the bear has a clear escape route. After the bear is gone and it\u2019s safe, make sure there is nothing in the area that will attract bears back again.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Albion Scare Hunger Campaign<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Albion Scares Hunger Food Drive is well under way with a battle occurring between Ms. Downes and Ms. Holman. I must say thought they are a bit worried about Mr. Jung and what he has planned!.
\nA reminder that the the food drive only goes until Thursday<\/strong><\/span> this week. One Albion Scares Hunger Trophy will be awarded to the primary and intermediate class that brings in the most combined donations of $ and food items.<\/p>\n

No school on Friday, October 10
\n<\/strong><\/span>A reminder that classes are not in session this Friday as staff will be working on developing our 2025\/2026 school Growth Plan.<\/p>\n
