\ud83c\udf89 School Highlights<\/h2>\n\ud83d\udeb4 Cops for Cancer Visit<\/h3>\n
Last Wednesday, we were fortunate to welcome\u00a0Cops for Cancer<\/strong>\u00a0to Albion! While we didn\u2019t reach our $1000 goal, we proudly raised\u00a0$650.00<\/strong>. Mrs. Von Krogh and I agree that our students have earned an\u00a0extended recess next week<\/strong>. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n This year, we\u2019re embracing the theme\u00a0\u201cRise and Shine\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0to guide our activities, assemblies, and weekly affirmations. \u201cBe brave enough to try, and bright enough to grow.\u201d<\/strong> Starting\u00a0Monday at 12:15 pm<\/strong>\u00a0in the Multi-Purpose Room, students in\u00a0Grades 2\u20137<\/strong>\u00a0are invited to work on a project they\u2019re passionate about. This club will meet every Monday.<\/p>\n Ms. Mountfort is looking for\u00a0parent volunteers<\/strong>\u00a0to assist in the library. \ud83d\udce7\u00a0jennifer_mountfort@sd42.ca<\/strong><\/p>\n Please review your child\u2019s verification form carefully, make any necessary corrections,\u00a0sign the back<\/strong>, and return it to the school\u00a0as soon as possible<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 6:30 pm<\/strong>\u00a0in the library and via Zoom. Thursday, Sept. 25 | 4:00\u20136:00 pm<\/strong> <\/p>\n In partnership with\u00a0Open Parachute<\/strong><\/a> and Ministry of Education and Child Care has developed the\u00a0Substance Use Prevention Series<\/a>\u00a0to equip parents, caregivers and guardians with practical tools and strategies for supporting substance use prevention in the home.<\/p>\n This three-part webinars series, accompanied by a dedicated Q&A section, translates key concepts into everyday scenarios \u2013 empowering families to engage in open, proactive conversations about substance use to build resilience in children and youth.<\/p>\n Provides up to\u00a0$200\/year<\/strong>\u00a0for students in financial need to participate in extracurricular activities. Maple Ridge \u2013 Pitt Meadows School District No. 42, in partnership with the Family Education & Support Centre, is offering evening Zoom workshops during the fall term.<\/p>\n Registration and session information can be found in the attached flyer or on our\u00a0district website<\/a><\/u>. Registration is limited to one parent\/caregiver as spaces are limited; however, more than one parent\/caregiver may participate in the Zoom meeting. A 24-hour cancellation notice is required for a refund. Class materials and Zoom links will be emailed to you before the session.<\/p>\n
