Details are:<\/p>\n Please note: The district supports individual and family decisions regarding safety. Parents\/guardians have primary responsibility for their children\u2019s safe travel to school. \nThrough the month of February our students will be spending time learning about Black History<\/a> and will also be participating in some school wide activities that focus on Kindness.
\nTomorrow we will be kicking off our weekly Kindness game of Bingo.\u00a0 Each student wanting to participate will obtain a Kindness bingo card from outside the office.\u00a0 As they complete a bingo line they can put their bingo card into a weekly draw for a prize.\u00a0 Students can enter as many times as they wish.\u00a0 There will be a school wide draw for 5 winners each Monday.
\nThis week we will be starting a school wide chain of kindness.\u00a0 Students will write a kind message on a chain link and then this link will be hung in our school hallway.\u00a0 The hope is to have the chain go from one end of the school to the other.
\nAlso, this week, there will be Kindness Boards in the hallways.\u00a0 Students will be encouraged to recognize an act of Kindness that was performed by another person and then post a stickie note on the Kindness Board to share it with others.<\/p>\n
\nThe decision to close schools due to accumulating snowfall is ultimately the responsibility of the superintendent, who must balance the safety of students, staff and parents with the need to provide learning. The decision is not taken lightly and is the result of a carefully thought out process that is reviewed after each experience and refined if necessary.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n
\nThis week, colder weather is in the forecast and parents are asked to please ensure that their child is dressed appropriately to be outside during recess and lunch.<\/p>\n
\nThere is a bin of extra gloves and toques located in the front entrance of the school.\u00a0 This bin is open to all students.\u00a0 If families have any gloves and\/or toques that they wish to donate please send them with your child to school.<\/p>\n
\nThe menu for February has been posted on the Simply Foods Website<\/a><\/p>\nFun Friday – Monday Feb 3 is the last day to order popcorn for Fun Friday on Feb. 7th.\u00a0 Popcorn is only available by pre-orders
