Last week students began to settle into their assigned classes.\u00a0 Some things that happened last week:<\/p>\n

We had lots of Grade 6\/7 students come out for volleyball so we will be running three teams this fall.\u00a0 Several of our classes also had a Bear Aware presentation that was given by Dan Mikolay , a WildSafeBC Community Coordinator and Ms. Mountfort has\u00a0started Bookfest for students in Grades 4-7.<\/p>\n

Simply Foods Tuesday\/Thursday Lunch Program<\/strong><\/span>
\nWe apologize for the confusion that is occurring with the Simply Lunch online ordering.\u00a0 The company was hoping to open registrations on Friday but this did not occur until this am.\u00a0 We have since noticed that the divisions and teachers are incorrect.\u00a0 We have been in contact with them and hope to have this all corrected by the end of the day.\u00a0 Please see the following links for further information

Cops for Cancer are stopping at Albion on Wednesday!
\n<\/strong>We are so excited for this year the\u00a0Cops for Cancer TOUR DE COAST<\/a>\u00a0will be stopping by Albion Elementary on Wednesday, September 18th at 9:26 am. Ensure that you mark this on your calendar for last year it was an amazing event to be part of.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/b>As a participating school, we will raising funds to support children and families living with cancer, and to help us raise funds Cops for Cancer.<\/p>\n

Families can donate in a variety of ways:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0Canadian Cancer Society is excited to announce the Cops for Cancer 2024 Raffle!
\nThe link for the raffle can be found at\u00a0\u00a0https:\/\/www.rafflebox.ca\/raffle\/ccs-bc\/95<\/a><\/p>\n

Prizes available to be won include:<\/p>\n

Prize # 1<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Luxury Whistler Weekend \u2013 ($2,026 value)<\/p>\n

Prize # 2<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 One roundtrip flight for two guests to any regularly scheduled WestJet destination \u2013 (valued at up to $2,900)<\/p>\n

Prize # 3<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Vancouver Luxury Weekend Package \u2013 ($1,800 value)<\/p>\n

Draw will take place on October 4th 2024 at 12:00pm. Winners will be contacted by the
\nCanadian Cancer Society to collect their prizes. Actual odds depend on number of tickets sold.<\/p>\n

2) Regular donations can be made through the team page (enter Albion Elementary)that can be found at\u00a0https:\/\/support.cancer.ca\/site\/TR\/?fr_id=29671&pg=pfind&fr_search_type=team&donate=true\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

3) Or have your child bring in a cash donation the week leading up to the event (more information will be sent out later this week).<\/p>\n

Thank you to everyone at Albion Elementary for all that you do as part of the Tour de Coast family. Since the first tour in 1998, Cops for Cancer has raised over $54 million in support of children and families living with cancer. These funds have most certainly saved lives, prevented some parents from ever hearing the words \u201cyour child has cancer\u201d and has brought hope to families that did experience cancer.<\/p>\n

Morning Games\/Homework Club
\n<\/strong><\/span>We will be starting our morning games and homework club on Tuesday, September 17th.\u00a0 This club will run everyday out of\u00a0 the multi-purpose room (MPR) from 8:00-8:25 am.\u00a0 Interested students are to enter the MRP through the doors located in the under covered area.\u00a0 Please note that there are no in and out privileges and at 8:25 am students will be dismissed to go to their line ups.<\/p>\n

2024\/2025 Consent Forms<\/strong>
\nEnsure that you log onto the Parent Portal to complete the required district consent forms for your child.\u00a0 Forms are located along the top bar highlighted on green called Consent Forms<\/p>\n

2024\/2025 Student Verification Forms<\/strong>
\nThis week you will be receiving a copy of your child’s student verification form.\u00a0 It is very important that this form is reviewed and any corrections are made.\u00a0 Please also remember to sign the back of the form.\u00a0 All forms needs to be returned to the school as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
