{"id":2310,"date":"2023-05-22T20:31:57","date_gmt":"2023-05-23T03:31:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elementary.sd42.ca\/albion\/?p=2310"},"modified":"2023-05-22T20:42:32","modified_gmt":"2023-05-23T03:42:32","slug":"weekly-memo-may-22-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elementary.sd42.ca\/albion\/weekly-memo-may-22-26\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekly Memo May 22-26"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I hope everyone had a fantastic long weekend.\u00a0 It is hard to believe that we are now on the home stretch of the school year.\u00a0 As we being to prepare for the end of this school year and the start of the next, I would like to announce that at the end of this school year, Mr. Henderson will be leaving Albion.\u00a0 The decision to leave was not an easy decision for him to make however, we know we will still see him as a TOC, and we wish him all the best as continues to train to try and pursue his dream to play wheelchair tennis for Canada at the 2024 Para-Olympic Games.<\/p>\n<p>I am excited to welcome Mr. Sheridan who will join Albion as the new Vice Principal.\u00a0 Mr. Sheridan is currently a teacher at Garibaldi Senior Secondary and he is excited to work with and get to know the Albion community.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to all the intermediate students who participated in the talent show that was this past Friday.\u00a0 A huge thank you to Mr. Waugh for donating his time and sound equipment and to Mrs. Yates and to Mrs. Tuplin for organizing this fun event.<\/p>\n<p>Also, congratulations to all the intermediate students who participated in the district cross country race at Alouette Lake last Tuesday.\u00a0 We are still waiting on information regarding the rescheduling of the Primary event.\u00a0 Thank you to Mrs. Matlock for organizing these district events.<\/p>\n<p>A huge shout out to West Coast Martial Arts who donated their time in providing martial arts to our intermediate students last week.\u00a0 Also, one to Amsterdam Garden Center for providing our PAC with an outstanding discount for the purchase of a tree for our courtyard.<\/p>\n<p>We are noticing that there are several students are choosing to bring Pokemon cards and other toys to school.\u00a0 We recognize that it is fun to bring these items from home however, a reminder that when items are brought from home, students are doing so at their own risk.\u00a0 \u00a0The school does not take responsibility for any broken or lost items.<\/p>\n<p>A reminder that our 2022\/2023 Yearbook is now for sale.\u00a0 The cost is $20 each.\u00a0 All orders must be submitted and paid for by\u00a0<strong>Wednesday, May 31st.\u00a0 To order please visit the following link to Photo Expressions <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/shop.photoexpressions.ca\/clients\/albion-elementary-school\/albion-yearbook-2023\/access\">https:\/\/shop.photoexpressions.ca\/clients\/albion-elementary-school\/albion-yearbook-2023\/access<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>PAC reminders<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hot Lunch Friday June 9th\u00a0Red Robin- orders are due June 1st\u00a08:00 pm<br \/>\nWednesday June 28th\u2013 TCBY Ice cream- orders need to be in by Tuesday, June 20th\u00a08:00 pm<br \/>\nOrder at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/munchalunch.com\/schools\/Albion\">https:\/\/munchalunch.com\/schools\/Albion<\/a><br \/>\nAGM- Tuesday, June 6 6:30 pm<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>This weeks events&#8230;<br \/>\n<\/u><\/strong><strong>Monday, May 22<sup>nd<br \/>\n<\/sup><\/strong>Victoria Day- No school<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nTuesday, May 23<sup>rd<\/sup><\/strong><br \/>\nGrade 4 High Jump: 7:45am in the Gym with Mrs. Matlock<br \/>\nLong Jump: Lunch at the long jump pit with Ms. Lemire &amp;
